description

This Handbook covers the mangrove plant species commonly found in Bali and Lombok. Also included are some coastal plants that are sometimes called mangrove associates. Most of thes species are also found in other parts of Indonesia where the environment is suitable for mangroves. This book has been designed for all people who are interested in mangroves: casual observers, dedicated botanists, and, of course, those who are involved in mangrove rehabilitation activities in Indonesia.
This Handbook is a practical guide that does not require any special botanical knowledge of plant classification. Many pictures, illustrations, key matrices with graphical icons, graphical habitat inicators, local names lists and simple descriptions have been included. All of these aids will help you distinguish species more easily in the field. Information about the planting techniques for serveral mangrove species is also included.
